Ian Giammanco (West Linn Alumni 1994) and Sara Giammanco (West Linn Alumni 1992): Ian Giammanco grew up in West Linn and graduated WLHS in 1994. His wife Sara also attended WLHS, and together they have a daughter, Sophia, born in 2007. Despite being an energetic, feisty, and beautiful little girl, Sophia was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was the original impetus to get an alumni football game going between WL and OC back in 2011 to raise money to find and fund a cure. Ian had expected the first game to be a one time affair, but both he and his family have been overwhelmed and humbled by the support, hard work, and dedication of the many individuals (and particularly the BFTB Board) who have strived to not only make the football game an annual event, but also to expand Battle for the Bridge into other areas to further increase our fundraising efforts to fight CF. Ian’s favorite part of the alumni game experience has been getting to know and become friends with players and families from both sides of the river. Ian works for TZ Medical in sales management. Sara officially joined the board as a joint Chair with Ian in 2016. She is pleased to join the board and continue to raise money to fight for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

What a great cause, to end Cystic Fibrosis, while making friendships with a great group of people – Mike recently joined the board to engage even further. What’s great is Battle For the Bridge is expanding into other exciting venues that involve more people and activities. Mike’s career, and network, in consumer packaged goods has helped with advertising and sponsorships of past events and he will be helping the board in this area. Mike enjoys running, working out, hiking and spending time with his wife Sheryl, daughter Katie and Stepsons KC and Dane! Being part of The Battle for the Bridge is a fantastic, rewarding experience and Mike looks forward to making a meaningful contribution to the cause.

Jeremy’s lifelong friend of 26 years passed away in 2014 from Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and created a lasting memory of why the fight is so important.
